IBI-Rating has upgraded the rating of investment attractiveness of Kamianets-Podilskyi and updated the city's investment passport

Rating agency IBI-Rating informs on upgrading the rating of investment attractiveness of Kamianets-Podilskyi city on the intermediate grade from invВВВ to invВВВ+. The upgrade in the rating grade took place for the first time, after determining it in 2016, and indicates positive changes in the economic and social development of the city. It should be noted, that this rating grade is characterized by sufficient investment attractiveness of the city in comparison with other municipalities of Ukraine.
The main factor which exerted influence on upgrading of the rating is the effective implementation of state policy at the local level, which creates favorable conditions for local business, promotes projects with the participation of foreign investors and international institutions. The upgrading in the rating grade is also due to the continued growth of most indicators of the city's economic development, the increase in the amount of funds aimed at improving the city infrastructure and their expected future growth, and the successful implementation of the project on energy efficiency in the district heating sector with the participation of IBRD.
Dmytro Zadesenets, Director of the municipal department of the IBI-Rating agency, underlined: «The rating of investment attractiveness is an important benchmark for domestic and foreign investors who seek to lead a global business and are looking for cities to expand their presence. The rating takes into account the economic and financial base, natural resource and ecological potential, condition of infrastructure development, support of investment processes, etc. The economy of Kamianets-Podilskyi is developing, which is positively reflected in the revenues to the city budget. Structural sustainability of incomes and their diversification in the context of enterprises and sectors of economy are ensured; also significantly increased the contribution of small businesses. The debt burden on the budget is at an acceptable level and decreases. At the same time, the financial capacity of local authorities to co-finance large-scale investment projects is limited, and the need to expand capital investment in updating communal infrastructure is a significant».
In order to conduct the analytical research, the materials obtained from Kamianets-Podilskyi city have been used, including: indicators of the social and economic development, statistical data, annual treasury statements, program materials, other necessary internal information, as well as the information from the public sources, which the Rating agency considers credible. Also, analysts of the IBI-Rating agency has updated the investment passport of the city. This document is a kind of a visiting card of Kamianets-Podilskyi and much of it depends the decision of businessmen about investing money capital into investment projects of the city. The investment passport contains information about: transport infrastructure, tourism and labor potential, industry, trade, investments, international cooperation, budget opportunities, ecology, as well as infrastructure projects which offered to the investor for implementation. The document was first developed in 2016. Since then, the information has been updated annually. Now the passport is developed in modern design, filled with interactive links and infographics. The brochure is developed in Ukrainian and English languages.
According to the words of the Director of the economy department of Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, Maya Gurskaya: «We improve our work from year to year, all of our steps are aimed at making the investor comfortable working in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Now, using this document, the investor will be able to quickly get acquainted with the city's potential, plan their activities correctly, identify key positions and make a decision on investing».
The investment passport of the city is published on the official website of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council in the section «Economy» and on the IBI-Rating site. In paper, the document will be shared in the Сity Сouncil and will also be used during the investment missions of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council.
