Odessa

The city of Odesa is the region center located in the south of Ukraine at a distance of 30 km from the mouth of the Dniester on the Black Sea coast. The area is 16.2 thousand hectares. The year of foundation - 1794. The city by number (more than 1 million inhabitants) ranks third in Ukraine. Odesa is a business, cultural and tourist center of the south of Ukraine with a developed industrial complex, the largest seaport of the country and significant tourist and recreational potential. The uniqueness of the city's location are compounded by the formation of a single transport system of the countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), the creation of transport corridors of transcontinental significance within the European transport network. The wide access to the Azov-Black Sea basin and to the large river highways - the Dunai, the Dniester, and Don - determine the advantages of Odesa in the transport and geographical position.
