Nizhyn Territorial Community is a united territorial community in Ukraine, on the territories of Nizhyn City Council and Nizhyn District of Chernihiv Oblast. The administrative center is Nizhyn city. Nizhyn territorial community was formed on November 19, 2018 by joining the Kunashiv village council of the Nizhyn district to Nizhyn city council of regional importance. The community includes Nizhyn city and 4 villages (Kunashivka, Naumivske, Palivoda and Pereyaslivka). The area of the community is 110.6 square km, population as of January 1, 2022 – 66,626 people.
Nizhyn city is a city of regional importance, the district center of the Chernihiv region, located in the south of the region on the banks of the Oster River, a tributary of the Desna, at a distance of 83 km from Chernihiv city and 126 km from Kyiv city. The territory of the city is 43.1 square km. As of January 1, 2022, the population of Nizhyn city was 65,830 people.
